disquiet about online pornography ではなく、disquiet about the effects of online pornography であり、close to that target ではなく close to meeting that target としています。きっちりと理屈の隙間を埋める感覚が日本語話者と違うなあといつも感じます。

※　もう一つ気になるのが２つ目の例での that です。target は１つしか出ていないので the target や this target でも誤解はないはず。心理的に距離を置こうとしているからでしょうか。「Modi さんがそう言ってるらしいけど」というちょっと突き放した気持ちが that に入っているような気がします。
